Imladris ( Rivendell)

Imladris — Rivendell Imladris, known to Men as Rivendell, is one of the most important Elven refuges in Middle-earth. Founded by Elrond in the year 1697 of the Second Age, it became a place of protection, knowledge, and beauty, hidden within the western mountains. Location: Situated in a sheltered valley on the western slopes of the Misty Mountains, near the river Bruinen (Loudwater). It is secluded and difficult to find for those unfamiliar with its paths. Era: Although founded in the Second Age, it remains a vital refuge throughout the Third Age, particularly during the events surrounding the War of the Ring. Climate: Mild for its mountainous location. Summers are pleasant, with bright days and cool nights. Autumn brings golden and reddish foliage; winters are cold and can bring snow to the mountains. Landscape: Forests, gardens, waterfalls, rivers, and stone paths surround the settlement. The architecture harmonizes with nature, featuring terraces, columns, balconies and open hal.
