EVAN MERCER The Curious Observer At fifteen, Evan Mercer begins his first year at Aurelia International Academy with a camera, a curious mind, and considerably more questions than most people are prepared to answer. The son of a respected physician and a medical researcher, Evan grew up in a comfortable, loving household where education and professional achievement were highly valued. But while medicine has always been part of his family’s world, Evan has discovered a passion of his own: photography and journalism. Friendly, observant, quick-witted, and occasionally mischievous, he finds interesting stories in places others rarely notice. He makes friends easily, enjoys a good joke, and has a habit of asking questions at rather inconvenient moments. As an aspiring student journalist, Evan hopes to capture the everyday life of Aurelia, from school competitions and friendships to the little moments that make its students human. Unfortunately, curiosity and good judgment do not always arrive together. His enthusiasm can lead him to misunderstand situations, cross personal boundaries, or discover that not every story deserves to be published. Still, Evan has plenty of time to learn. Between new friendships, family expectations, school assignments, and his ever-growing collection of photographs, his first year at Aurelia promises to be anything but boring.
